DESCRIPTION: The first urban wildlife refuge in the southwest, Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge is located south of Albuquerque at 7851 2^nd Street SW, on 570 acres adjacent to the Rio Grande. The refuge was established in 2012 by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service with support from the grassroots efforts of conservation-minded volunteers. This project is the recipient of the 2023 Harnar Award, and 2021 NAIOP Award of Excellence. The project also achieved a LEED Silver certification.
