Assist with planning layout and installation and repair of wiring and electrical fixtures, such as motors, generators, switches, circuit breakers and fuse boxes.
Assist with inspection of wiring and fixtures for conformance to company specifications or local electrical codes. Adhere to production schedules and work hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Assist with interpreting specifications, blueprints, and job orders on assigned projects. Assist with analyzing and resolving work problems.
Assist with inspection of material for quality before installation.
Confer with supervisors to coordinate work activities following pre-task plan. Interpret company policies and obey safety regulations.
Senior apprentices will assist and provide work direction and guidance to junior electrical apprentices to improve their skills.
Responsible for securing and maintaining basic tools and performing all tasks to a standard . Maintain tools and equipment, including:
- Performing routine tool
- Inspecting tools for damage.
- Tagging and reporting damaged tools for
- Cleaning tools and
- Lubricating tools and equipment.
- Storing tools to prevent damage or theft. Initiate or suggest ideas to achieve working goals.
Adhere to and sign all pre-task plans and job hazard analysis forms daily. Become thoroughly familiar with Brycon’s client(s) and OSHA safety.
Perform daily tasks in a safe and working environment manner in accordance with company policies. Operate a variety of hand and power tools, as well as shop machinery, in conjunction with proper training. Operate company vehicles, forklifts, and aerial lifts in a safe manner in conjunction with proper certification. Inform Safety Managers and safety representatives of safety violations and injuries immediately.
Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or equivalent is desired. Valid driver’s license preferred.
Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted during work activities Skilled in reading, writing and math.
Skilled in the use of electrical, basic power, and hand tools.
Ability to read blueprints; and knowledge of electrical applications at current level of apprenticeship. Knowledge of methods and techniques of performing skilled electrical work.
Methods and techniques of storing equipment, materials. and supplies. Principles and procedures of record keeping.
Knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations. Ability to prepare labor and material estimates.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Knowledge and acceptance of good health and safety principles and practices are desired.
Skilled in interpersonal communication by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted during work.
