Brycon is continually looking for experienced and dedicated individuals who have the desire to work for an exceptional organization.

CARPENTER

– Read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, sketches, and drawings.

– Perform a variety of tasks involving use of hands and power tools.

– Complete tasks such as, but not limited to, concrete forms and braces, handrails, stairs, and temporary barriers.

– Provide work direction and guidance to co-workers to improve their skills.

– Be thoroughly familiar with current client, company, and OSHA safety regulations.

– Prepare layout, using rule, framing square, and calipers.

– Select specified type of lumber or other materials and review specification for detail.

– Assemble cut and shaped materials and fasten them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue.

– Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter’s hand tools and power tools and conform to local building codes.

– Perform skilled carpentry work such as repairing and constructing all aspects of architectural building; assemble pre-cut and prefabricated wooden or steel parts to form complete units.

– Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, steel, and wallboard, and conforming to local building codes.

– Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace.

– Build stairs and lay out and install partitions and cabinet work.

– Secure and maintain basic tools and perform all tasks to standard.

– Assist the superintendent in performing his duties, e.g., layout inspections of work and other functions as directed.

– Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware, such as locks, letter drops, and kick plates.

– Apply shock-absorbing, sound-deadening, and decorative paneling to ceilings and walls.

– Prepare surfaces for paint and other finishes.

 

CARPENTER HELPER

– Learn and understand methods and techniques of storing equipment, materials, and supplies.

– Learn how to study specification in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.

– Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk and marking gauge.

– Perform semi-skilled carpentry work, such as repairing and constructing all aspects of architectural building.

– Assist with the assembling of pre-cut and pre-fabricated wooden or steel parts to form complete units.

– Assist with constructing, erecting, installing and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, steel, and wallboard, and conform to local building codes.

– Develop ability to build rough wooden structures such as concrete forms, tunnels, sewer supports, and temporary shelters.

– Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures, and repair or replace.

– Develop the skill to operate a variety of hand and power tools and shop machinery in conjunction with proper training.

– Fill cracks and other defects in plaster or plasterboard and sand patch, using patching plaster, trowel and sanding tools.

– Secure and maintain basic tools and perform all tasks to standard.

– Follow directions of supervisory personnel of all trades.
