  • Safety Representative

    REQUISITION # NV-00008 (Reno Area)

    The Safety Coordinator will assist the Safety Manager by ensuring that Brycon Corporation meets all safety requirements in the field and all facilities by managing, coordinating, promoting and training all safety activities on a major job site.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Supports and promotes general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company or field personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
    Will tour and inspect the job site to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, and report to the safety manager and superintendent recommendations or corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
    Will work with outside contractors, on job sites, as directed by the safety manager, in continually assessing organization processes addressing safety issues.
    Will maintain knowledge of company's policies and procedures enforcing and supporting them to all co-workers.
    Will maintain all site required documentation related to safety issues, i.e. accident reports, inspection reports, training logs.
    Review daily job hazard analyses.
    Assist employees in providing emergency response, as needed.
    Strive for continued growth of your professional knowledge and skills to contribute to the team dynamic.
    Assume additional assignments/tasks as needed.
    Assists to devise and coordinate training programs or media which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness including working with the safety manager to complete new employee safety training.
    Participates in the investigation of accidents and injuries compiling information in preparation of material and evidence for organization use.
    Conduct safety meetings and provide on-site safety training.
    Maintain excellent field presence to monitor safety performance.
    Recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective procedures.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    Must hold effective people skills, basic communication skills, considerable problem solving skills, and moderate functional knowledge.
    Have a strong work ethic and the ability to think critically.
    Strong computer skills; must have experience in Microsoft Office and ability to access OSHA information via the internet.
    Knowledge of health and safety management systems.
    Working knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 standards or the state construction safety regulations.
    Able to perform onsite job site inspections.
    Work with project personnel in a professional and mature manner in order to maintain the integrity of the company and relationships formed therein.
    Perform all functions and responsibilities in partnership with the company's culture, corporate vision, ethics and code of conduct.

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
    1-3 years' experience in a construction related field.
    Certifications in CPR and First Aid, preferred.
    OSHA 10, and 30 required.
    OSHA 500 certification training, preferred.

  • Architectural Project Manager

    Candidates must be able to deal with the challenges of work in an advanced technology environment, be organized and provide clear leadership to the entire project team. The position of the Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects at various stages, overseeing projects from pre-construction to closeout for a self-performing contractor. Project Managers will manage the bid process, analyze blueprints/specifications, review proposals/project requirements, secure required permits/utility services, coordinate material procurement, ensure compliance with corporate policies and federal/state laws, provide status updates and maintain documentation records. As the Architectural Project Manager, your primary purpose is to plan, direct and coordinate activities of each construction project to ensure that the goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through others.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    - Assist as required for all pre-construction activities, including, business development, estimating and negotiating subcontractor and vendor agreements.
    - On negotiated design-build projects, assist the design team the during design phase. Identify design inefficiencies and recommend changes to keep project on budget while still meeting the required specifications.
    - Directly responsible for the developing and maintaining project budgets and schedules.
    - Oversee and implement the project QA/QC program.
    - Oversee all aspects of project planning, execution, oversight and finalization.
    - Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring of less experienced members of the team
    - Manage and oversee Project Engineers as required.
    - Attend progress meetings, monitor progress and verify QA/QC and safety goals are being met.
    - Responsible for Project Cost Control to include reviewing and approval of invoices and timesheets.
    - Assist Safety Manager in the successful implementation and management of project specific safety programs.
    - Create and submit monthly Application for Payment to the owner.
    - Establish project objectives and ensure company policies, procedures, and performance standards are implemented.
    - Maintain continual open communication with clients, design team, subcontractors and vendors.
    - Manage all warranty claims for projects

    Qualifications:
    - High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
    - Post-secondary education in construction or construction related field, B.S. in Construction Management or Project Management; preferred
    - Project Management experience 2-5 years; preferred
    - Have had experience in projects over $5 million
    - LEED accrediitation highly desirable
    - BIM experience; highly desirable
    - Bi-Lingual; highly desirable

    Requirements:
    - Have a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of construction
    - Superior communication and interpersonal skills
    - Must be able to multi-task, working on more than one project at a time
    - Must be competent with the following Technology �" Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and MS Project. (Sage PM Software knowledge; a plus)

    Brycon is seeking an Estimator for its Arizona High-Tech operations based in Chandler, AZ. This individual will estimate for High-Tech commercial construction projects and is responsible for the following duties:

    -Performing quantitative takeoffs on construction projects
    -Preparation of proposals
    -Establish labor productivities for estimates
    -Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing.
    -Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-perform group.
    -Understand the market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work and other factors for establishing margin percentages.
    -Be involved in the internal bid reviews with supervisors and project team.
    -Assist in the hand-off of secured projects to the Operations Team.
    -Assist in other duties as assigned such as change order management or billings depending on the project(s).

    Requirements:

    -Minimum 3-years related work experience in Estimating / Construction Management or related field
    -Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or related field
    -Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
    -Strong ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings for Brycon scopes of work
    -Proficient in estimating techniques and use of On Center software and databases
    -Proficiency using the SmartBid platform
    -Sharp understanding of bidding process
    -Ability to visualize various building techniques
